Pillow pet collection at Smoky Mountain Encore

CORE will be collecting pillow pets again this year for a local children’s hospital. As most of you may know CORE started this project last year at Encore for a 7 year old boy named Jacob McConhay. Jacob’s goal was to collect 1,000 pillow pets for Riley hospital in IN where he took treatments. Since last year to date there has been 500,000 pillow pets collected and delivered to many hospitals in his name. Jacob has since passed away, but the pillow pets will be delivered in his name for as long as we can. Help CORE be a part of touching as many sick children as we can. We will have a collection box at the CORE both. Donations will also be accepted to purchase pillow pets.

Each year the CCA Showdown of Champions makes a financial impact on the host city. This year let’s make a Social Impact. Let’s help those in need.

The CCA Board of Directors has chosen the Knox Area Rescue Ministries to benefit from our sharing. We ask each of the dancers, parents and spectators to bring a non-perishable food item to the Showdown to help this organization with their mission of helping others. And to boost it up a notch, if you have any unused coats, jackets, sweatshirts or sweaters in your closets, bring them along too.

This is not a contest amongst teams. The only thing that you’ll win is the warm glow in your heart knowing that you’ve helped make a difference.
